tapping into the mysteries all around us
BEGINNINGS
As a child, I had a distinctive voice. I wrote to disseminate information. Beyond that there was little flowery language. My openings were brief, and conclusions terse. As my story unraveled into adolescence, my writing retained that clarity and focus. I read in a search for answers, and I wrote in opposition to that end: to provide answers for those seeking to understand. In books, the metaphors and allusions impeded me in my quest for Truth. I sought to remove those barriers for anyone who came to my page. However, over time I began to see --- more and more --- the transformative power of writing. The act of writing, and the experience of receiving written words, can transmute existing worldviews or circumstances, and provide new avenues of thought. This has become the driving force for my relationship with the practice in adulthood.
EDUCATION
I first studied at Middlesex Community College, and earned my associate's degree in liberal arts - English. Upon graduation, I earned an award for the highest GPA in my major. I then transferred to a four year university: Rutgers University - New Brunswick. I double majored in English & Sociology and graduated with bachelor's degree in January 2021. I spent a number of semesters on the Dean's List at both of these institutions.
CAREER
It is still early in my professional writing career. In the winter of 2024, my poem "Typed Writer" was published in Issue #12 of Soup Can Magazine. I also published a book of poetry titled "Philo / Sophy & Ont / Ology" in July of the same year. At present I am working on a number of projects, both as an individual and in collaboration with other writers. I am excited to continue to provide updates as the path unfolds.
